ANIMAL MODELS
All mouse models developed by MODEL-AD are made available from the JAX mouse repository. All models are available for pharma and biotech use.
- A comprehensive, searchable list of all models using the JaxMice database
- A list of models with associated phenotypic data is available at the AD Knowledge Portal
- Curated tables of specific sets:
- Late-onset AD base models
- APOE
- APP
- MAPT (Tau)
- Trem2
DATA RESOURCES
All datasets developed by MODEL-AD are available from the AD Knowledge Portal.
Some data sets can be interrogated using the interactive MODEL-AD Explorer.
Data will be uploaded on an ongoing basis as experiments are completed. To get notified of new data releases sign up for the AD Knowledge Portal Newsletter.
The AlzForum research models database has a searchable, curated display of phenotypes in AD, PD, and ALS models.
PRECLINICAL TESTING
STOP-AD PORTAL
Screening the Optimal Pharmaceutical for Alzheimer’s Disease (STOP-AD) is a program that offers preclinical screening of compounds through the MODEL-AD
Preclinical Testing Core, an NIA-funded resource to support screening of community-nominated compounds in mouse models created by the MODEL-AD consortium with minimal costs to the investigator.
Improving Preclinical Translation in Alzheimer’s Disease Research
This workshop will leverage the expertise and facilities of the IU/JAX/PITT Model Organism Development for Evaluation of Late Onset Alzheimer’s Disease (MODEL-AD) Center. We aim to address training gaps in preclinical drug screening by providing you with the skills and knowledge required for rigorous design, execution, analysis, and reporting of pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamics, and preclinical efficacy experiments, particularly in the mouse. Through this workshop, you will experience a significant amount of hands-on, practical laboratory training in in vivo drug screening.
